Spice Valley camp is a beautiful place with awesome scenery and closeness to nature.
Spice Valley camp is a beautiful place with awesome scenery and closeness to nature. Almost unlimited hiking possibilities and with several worthwhile shorter hikes or walks close to the camp. The hospitality of Balu, the camp owner, and his staff is exceptional. If you're looking for "resort type" camping it's probably not for you but if you have a decent tent, a sleeping bag, and know how to cook a meal (and clean up after yourself) you won't regret a visit to Spice Valley Camp.

Our family with children stayed in spice valley camp for two days 6th and 7th of may. This campsite is the best place ever we stayed with close to nature and for two days we did not even see any human except camp two staff. We saw first time in our life How organically avocado, orange, passion fruit, coffee, pepper etc are growing in spice valley camp. We sure recommend this camp for nature lovers. We would like to come back with bigger group. Thumbs up.
Spice Valley camp site is a little kingdom of peace in the clouds. Balu uncle's anecdotes are very enchanting and Nitya Aunty's food will leave you in a state of bliss. Raja Anna, the caretaker at the site, is very helpful with every little thing. We even got a Yoga teacher for a Yoga class in the morning and it was one of the best Yoga sessions I've ever had. Overall, the place is clean, beautiful and quiet. Thank-you for a lovely time.
Pristine Camp Site
MAHI (MAHI)
Spice Valley is a pristine camping site perched on the top of a hillock located 20 kms away from the town of Kodai. It encloses an avocado plantation and a lovely stream as well. Tents are provided for stay, while other basic facilities such as clean restrooms, charging points, and a concrete shelter are available for use. Tasty food and clean drinking water are also provided. The owner Mr Balu is very friendly and helpful. While we faced absolutely no safety issues, as with all off-beat stays in India, it's advisable that you travel as a group of at least 3-4. Its a must visit for people who want to spend time in the midst of mother nature
If you are looking for getaway from city life. Spice valley is the best option. We took a bike ride from chennai to kodai and the host, Bala had organised everything based on our arrival. About the place, It is a complete package of Trekking uphill, setting up our own tents, Cooking our own food, Falls, Plucking Orange and chilling out all day - All this you get it at Spicevalley. Bala had given us complete freedom to do everything and anything. It was like we owned the place. Our initial plan was to stay for a two nights, but we extended one more night just because of that beautiful place. And yes , the Jackfruit there - Oh my goooddd, Was sooo delicious. Have never tasked such juicy jackfruit in my life. I ended up munching half the fruit myself. Thank you Bala for giving us this wonderful spot. We loved every minute we stayed there. Hoping to visit the place with even a bigger gang next time.
Young couple
We had a superb experience at Spice Valley Camp. The Campsite owners Mr. Balu and Mrs. Nithya were wonderful hosts who took care of us by coming with us till the campsite and arranging small amenities for us when we forget to get it with us. They even upgraded our stay from tent to a beautiful cottage as it was free during our stay. Their food was also very tasty and authentic home made. The place was very calm and peaceful where you can forget all your worries and be at peace with the nature.
My son has already decided that trekking is his favourite activity
NAMITA
This was just the kind of experience we wanted for our 7 year old kid. Totally raw , yet so enriching. The best part was that Mr. Bala (owner of the property) gave us complete freedom to enjoy as we wished. We made our own fire , made tea on the fire , climbed trees, plucked the abundant amlas, the kids took a joy horse ride and got themselves drenched in the lovely waterfall ! All this - when we were kept well fed with the delicious home cooked food..the simple sambar, rassam rice was just heavenly sitting under the trees with hammocks by the side. The Universe just conspired to give us the best experience with the clouds opening up to a full moon on 22nd Dec !! My son has already decided that trekking is his favourite activity and he will grow up to be a trekker !!! Thank you Mr. Bala for the awesome hospitality and an unforgettable experience... Request .. please keep the area as raw and close to nature as it is , any amount of human intervention might just spoil it :) ...

Just returned from the camp still can’t take the view off of my head the place is quiet amazing now I only have pictures to look atworried. The hospitality and enthusiasm of Balu and his Uncle is something very hard to find, thanks for making the stay so smooth and taking around and giving information on the place. Definitely recommend the place to be in kodaikanal and keep up the good work.
